Michael Jackson Will Names Diana Ross as Backup Guardian of Children

Michael Jackson names his longtime friend Diana Ross as
secondary guardian of his three children if his mother, Katherine Jackson, is
unable to act as guardian.
The 2002 will names Katherine Jackson, 79, as primary
guardian, followed by Ross, 65, if Katherine is “unwilling or unable” to take
care of the children.
The King of Pop leaves his estate, which is valued at
$500 million in “non-cash, non-liquid assets” and “interest in various
entities,” to the Michael Jackson Family Trust. Attorney John Branca and music
producer John McClain are named as executors.
Although Jackson’s wishes for his children – Prince, 12,
Paris, 11, and Blanket, 7 – are clearly stated in the will, Katherine Jackson
has only been granted temporary guardianship of them by a Los Angeles court. Debbie
Rowe, the mother of Prince and Paris, now has parental rights over them despite
giving up full custody to Jackson after their divorce in 1999. Blanket was born
