Successful Drug Rehab Will Help Economy
Why Successful Drug Rehab Is Essential In This Tough Economic Climate.
Atlanta, GA 3/27/2009 07:40 PM GMT (TransWorldNews)
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics the unemployment rate in the United States just rose to 7.6%, which is a 16-year-high and the worst many have seen in years. The economic scene has yet to get better as just in the last 4 months the number of unemployed persons has risen by 4.1 million.
Mary Rieser, Executive Director for Narconon Drug Rehab, Atlanta Recovery Center, comments, "Just this week, President Obama’s $787 billion economic stimulus plan was approved to revive the economy and save jobs. And in the midst of all this, the federal government is spending hundreds of billions of dollars per year on ineffective drug rehabilitation programs and incarceration costs for non-violent drug offenders.
"One way to cut those costs and to safeguard the financial strength of this country in the future is to have drug rehab programs that work. This reduces inflated spending on our prison systems and stops taxpayer’s funding of other types of treatment that have shown to be unsuccessful. In addition, the outcome of an effective drug rehabilitation program is a person who is contributing to our economy, instead of someone who is taking from it.
"One such program that does work to attain positive results is the Narconon® program.
According to recent statistics from drugbulletin.org, Narconon rehabilitation centers continue to achieve a drug-free success rate that is above 70%. This is done by a combination of a drug-free withdrawal, sauna detoxification program and a series of life skills courses that are developed to improve the addict and help him to become a responsible, ethical, contributing member of society.
Our country has a long, hard road ahead and implementing successful drug rehabilitation programs will return much-needed dollars back into an ailing economy."
