Former Survivor producer Bruce Beresford Redman was arrested without incident at his Los Angeles home Tuesday. Mexican authorities requested U.S. marshals take Redman into custody for the April 2010 murder of his wife, Monica Beresford Redman.
Redman has been a person of interest in Monica’s murder since her body was found in a sewer at a resort in Cancun on April 8. The couple was vacationing there at the time of the murder. Redman reported his wife missing 2 days before her body was found. He claims he last saw Monica when she left the resort to go shopping. Redman has maintained he is innocent of the charges against him.
Investigators say Monica suffered head trauma and died of asphyxiation.
"We are disappointed by the United States Government's decision to arrest Bruce Beresford-Redman. Based upon our investigation he is an innocent man being wrongfully accused by a foreign government. We hope that after full consideration of both sides, a federal court will decide not to extradite him,” Redman’s attorney, Richard Hirsch, said in a statement to RadarOnline.com.
