Australia Officials Warn Fans of Britney Spears Lip Syncing
Atlanta, GA 11/06/2009 06:09 PM GMT (TransWorldNews)
Australian government officials are warning Britney
Spears fans that the pop star will lip sync portions of her concerts. Virginia
Judge, the Minister for Fair Trading for New South Wales, released a statement
warning fans that Spears has pre-recorded segments in her concerts.
“It is Britney’s ‘prerogative’ to lip-sync, and it is my
job to make sure consumers know what they are paying for up front,” the statement
said. “Personally, I would rather see a live set from a local artist but I am
sure Britney’s fans will be treated to a spectacular show.”
Judge is considering options to make sure fans know exactly
what they are getting out of a Spears ‘Circus’ concert. She is considering
disclaimers indicating that portions of the shows will be pre-recorded be
required on promotional materials and tickets.
Spears has not commented.
