For large companies like Coca-Cola, the need to keep their facilities clean is a constant concern. Much of the reputation of these businesses depends on maintaining clean working environments in their corporate offices as well as any factories that they manage. To meet the demands of this task, companies generally employ in-house cleaning teams in addition to facility support services.

Typical Cleaning Processes

In large facilities, it generally takes hundreds of man-hours every week to maintain a clean environment. Some companies may train its regular employees to handle some light cleaning duties while relying on specialist for deeper cleaning processes. While different facilities may employ slightly different techniques, it is a round-the-clock process for all of them.

In a working company like Coca-Cola, the bulk of the cleaning work is usually done during “off” hours when regular employees will not get in the way of the cleaning professionals and vice versa. There are, generally, however, cleaning teams that are on hand throughout the day to assist with special tasks or cleanups. A sports arena, for example, needs an extra cleaning during and after a big event in addition to its regular cleaning schedule.

HACCP Plan

In companies that handle foods, one important part of the cleaning process is a company’s hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) plan. The HACCP process was developed in order to assess the points at which food might become contaminated and reduce that risk at every level and ensure all food sanitation services are on par with these specific needs.

An HACCP plan is considered more effective than simply checking the end product at the point of consumption because it examines every aspect of the food production process, from generation to store shelves.

For a company like Coca-Cola that handles food on a regular basis, an HACCP plan is essential to maintaining the integrity of the product. Proper handling, as dictated by this process, can help reduce the risks of food-borne illnesses by eliminating physical, chemical, and microbiological contaminants.

When it comes to maintaining the cleanliness of large companies like Coca-Cola or a large sports arena, it a lot of work is needed. While these companies typically employ in-house facility maintenance staff, their efforts may need to be augmented occasionally by cleaning specialists and facility support services. What is most important is that these facilities maintain a clean, sanitary environment so that they can provide quality products and services.
